| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. |
| Summary, etc. |
Along with the public efforts accounted by Maurice Cox and Steven Lewis, many Detroiters have helped to push forward and reinvent the Motor City. Third Man Records and Shinola are examples of two well-known enterprises that have already seen some economic impact while generating nationwide visibility. Their efforts may not be enough to make widespread social change on their own, but they are creating jobs, and boosting gentrification and tourism in certain downtown areas.<br/>Urban farms, entrepreneurship, technological start-ups, and other more neighborly initiatives might be less celebrated abroad, but they are dreaming about a new Detroit, and are essential to the making of a new era. |
