  <abstract>The metropolitan region of NY-NJ is a delta within which the Hudson River, the East River, the Hackensack and the Passaic all converge. In this confluence a diversity of coastal and semi-inland flood landscapes appear. The team mapped these as separate categories of landscapes, because they respond to flooding in different ways and are accompanied by different risks and vulnerabilities to the urban environments that they host.</abstract>
