Summary: I have photographed abandoned military airports, barracks, and other remnants of the old Soviet regime in Berlin and Brandenburg. The Soviet troops left Germany in 1994. In the abandoned buildings, I have discovered murals featuring cosmonauts, rockets and portraits of Lenin, and many other fascinating remnants of the Soviet troops and the Soviet aesthetic in these buildings. The photo series was taken from 2014 to 2017 and shows a part of German and Russian history that is slowly fading away and being taken over by nature.
